COAST
AND CASTLES 7 Nights/8 Days
A
journey from the sea at the historic town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed
past ruined castles and abbeys, through river valleys and pretty
market towns to the bustling metropolis of Scotland's capital city,
Edinburgh. There are constant reminders of the turbulent history
of border wars as the route follows the changing scenery and rolling
landscape of the eastern borders to reach the narrow river valleys
and higher hills around Galashiels, famous for its woollen industry.
A slow steady climb over the Moorfoot Hills brings Dalkeith and
Edinburgh into view. Visit Rosslyn Chapel before cyling into this
exciting city of fine gardens and curving Edwardian terraces, dominated
by the towering castle. Itinerary
