Day 1.Arrive PRAGUE
Explore the wonderful architecture of this unspoilt city, stay overnight.

 

TelcDay 2. PRAGUE - TELC 37ml(60km)
A morning transfer through scenic countryside past Benesov and then begin cycling. Journey through the rolling countryside of South Bohemia via the sleepy small medieval town of Pelhrimov to Telc in South Moravia, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Its Chateau is well worth a visit.

 

Day 3. Circular ride from TELC 25ml(40km)
Travel north to the small town of Trest and continue to Castle Rostejn hidden deep in the forests of the Moravian Highlands. Converted from a fortress with a seven-faceted tower, the castle is now aregional heritage museum.

 

CyclistsDay 4. TELC - VALTICE 29ml(46km)
Transfer eastwards to begin cycling north of Znojmo. Pass through a beautiful area teeming with wildlife to reach Dolni Vestonice, the site of Stone Age settlements. Continue to spend the night at the Unesco listed small chateau of Hranicn Zamecek or in nearby Valtice.

 

Day 5. Circular tour to LEDNICE 31ml(50km)
Spend the day in the Valtice World Heritage Site, a landscape dominated by two chateaux built in early the 19th century by the Lichtenstejn family. Seven kilometres apart, they lie at either end of a tree lined avenue in a vast, magnificent park, dotted with follies, including a large minaret, Roman aqueduct, temples, fish ponds and acres of woodland and gardens. Combining this with some of the local wine you can have a very interesting day.

 

ChateauDay 6. VALTICE - MOSONMAGYAROVAR 60ml(96km)
Transfer to Malacky in Slovakia and begin cycling beside the Morava River to Bratislava, the capital. This area, once closed behind the Iron Curtain is a nature reserve with many varieties of wading birds. From Bratislava cross into Hungary and spend the night at the spa town of Mosonmagyarovar.

 

Day 7. MOSONMAGYAROVAR - ESZTERGOM 31ml(50km)

Cycle via Gyor to Esztergom, one of Hungary's most historical and sacred cities. Visit the famous 19th century Basilica, located right on the banks of the Danube River.

 

Day 8 ESZTERGOM - BUDAPEST 29ml(46km)
Cycle by the Danube bend - another nature reserve to Szentendre, famous for its artists' colony, many galleries and art museums: from here transfer to Budapest.
