Day 1. Arrive WROCLAW The capital of Lower Silesia, Wroclaw is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Poland and is situated in the valley of the Odra river. If time permits take a stroll through the old town centre or Szczytnicki Park. Overnight stop in Hotel Tumski.

 

ZieleniecDay 2. WROCLAW - POLANICA ZDROJ 19ml(30km)

Through Silesian landscape we travel by bus towards the Polish-Czech border, (75ml/120km). We start at Zieleniec and cycle downhill to Polanica, one of the oldest and most famous resorts in the Sudety Mountains. On the way we pass Duszniki Zdroj, a small resort famous for it's springs and Chopin Festival. In the evening relax in your comfortable hotel or take a stroll in Polanica's park lanes.

 

Day 3. POLANICA ZDROJ - PACZKOW 40ml(65km)

Today we cycle to Klodzko through the valley of Nysa Klodzka. Klodzko is the cultural capital of this region. It is famous for its picturesque location, architecture, 18 century fortification and baroque stone bridge, known as a small version of 'Charles Bridge in Prague. Leaving Klodzko we enter a romantic landscape of forests, fields and villages, cycling along the Nysa Klodzka gorge to reach Bardo. Then we continue to the castle in Krzemieniec Zabkowicki, which was designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. We follow the Nysa Klodzka River to reach todays destination Paczkow.

 

JarvonikDay 4. PACZKOW - GLUCHOLAZY 31ml(50km)

We cycle around the old town of Paczkow, then we say goodbye to Polish castles as we cross the border. In Czech Republic we visit another castle in Javornik. This 13 century castle was rebuilt in baroque style and was once a centre of Silesian music life. We cycle from Javornik along the border leaving behind beautiful Czech villages. The way leads us through forests and fields, where you can admire romantic ruins and charming chapels. Next we pass the border again and continue to the center of The Opava Mountains Landscape Park, Glucholazy, with its beautiful renaissance and baroque Main Square.

 

Narrow gauge railwayDay 5. GLUCHOLAZY - KRNOV 34ml(55km)

Today we ride through more forests and fields towards the Czech Republic. On our way we will pass stone circles which marked the way of pilgrimage. We stop in Osoblaha where we visit a charming Jewish cementary then we load our bicycles onto the narrow gauge Railway. This railway takes us into Tremesna, where we cycle downhill again crossing many bridges over the Opavica river which separates the border between Poland and the Czech republic. Finally we arrive at the small picturesque town of Krnov.

 

KrnovDay 6. KRNOV - HRADEC nad MORAVICI 25ml(40km)

We start cycling south east from Krnov towards the hills and then we follow the Opava River as it flows downhill. The highlight for today is Opava. It is the historic capital of Czech Silesia. In the evening we stay in our hotel in Hradec nad Moravici. Here you can relax in the swimming pool, sauna, and fitness centre. Perhaps visit the local renaissance palace, where composers such as Beethoven, Paganini and Wagner used to be the guests of the local duke.

 

Day 7. HRADEC nad MORAVICI - RACIBORZ - WROCLAW 19ml(30km)

We say goodbye to Silesia and cycle northwards to Krawarn castle. This impressive building from 17th century used to be the seat of Eichendorff family. After passing the border we load our bikes on the bus and return to Wroclaw, (94ml/150km), stopping at Raciborz.
