1. Arrive MELROSE
Explore the ruined Abbey and museum, Priorwood Garden and the

2. Tours from MELROSE
A choice of routes:
1. Perhaps travel west to the wool town of Galashiels for a tour
of the Cashmere Mill before continuing along the Tweed Cycleway
to Traquir House, the oldest continually inhabited house in Scotland.
2.
Visit Abbotsford House, the former home of Sir Walter Scott and
journey by the Eildon Hills south of Melrose to Newton St. Boswells
and Dryburgh Abbey. Return via Scott's View to Melrose.
3.A scenic trip into the quiet countryside north of Melrose initially
following the Leader Water before climbing for some wonderful
tranquil views over the Border landscape. Enjoy the fast descent

3. MELROSE - JEDBURGH
Cycle along the gentle rolling countryside to the picturesque
country town of Kelso and visit Floors Castle,Scotland's
largest inhabited house: continue to the elegant town square and
ruined Abbey.On the way to Jedburgh pass Roxburgh village, cross
the River Teviot by Kalemouth suspension bridge, climb to Crailinghall

4. JEDBURGH - MELROSE
In the morning visit majestic Jedburgh Abbey which despite its
lackof
a roof is perhaps the finest surviving medieval building in Scotland.
Before leaving don't miss the Castle Jail and also Mary Queen
of Scots Visitor Centre which tells the story of the life of this
tragic queen. Cycle back to Melrose by a choice of short or long
