Day
1. Arrive BRUSSELS
Perhaps the starting point for any visit to Brussels is the Grand Place which was built as a merchant’s market in the 13th century. Brussels is home to 80 different museums and has many historical buildings. Visit the Royal Palace, open to the public during the summer months or the Cathedral of St. Michele & Gudule

2. BRUSSELS - MECHELEN 37ml(60km)
Your cycles and equipment will be delivered to your hotel at 0900hrs. Today we start our cycle tour out of the city centre to the university town of Leuven which is also known as Belgium’s reigning brew capital. An ideal place to stop for lunch. Mechelen is our destination for today. It is a small and picturesque town full of charm and history. It is filled with charming old-fashioned shops, car-free areas and quaint little squares. If time permits visit St Rombouts Cathedral or St John's Church.

3. MECHELEN - BORNEM 22ml(35km)
Today
cycle along the beautiful River Rupel and Schelde to Bornem and admire the surrounding lush green landscape. A short cycle ride today gives provides time to take a 15minute train ride to Antwerp. Enjoy a stroll on the Meir, have a beer in one of the many bistro bars or admire the rich architecture and arts of this Flemish city. Antwerp is not only known as a 'Diamond City' but also as the native city of the painter Rubens where in the Rubens House you can admire his work. In the middle of the city is the 14th century, 'Cathedral of Our Lady' which despite the ravages of war and the Reformation is still an enormous treasure chamber, preserving works like the ‘Descent from the Cross’ and the ‘Elevation of the Cross’ by Rubens.

4. BORNEM - GHENT 40ml(65km)
A long but relaxed cycle ride today as we continue along the river Schelde to Dendermonde and onwards to the historical centre of Flanders, Ghent. It has much to offer and best explored by bicycle as the city centre is closed to cars. What will it be? The magnificent Gravensteen Castle (Castle of the Counts), this forbidding grey fortress was built by the count of Flanders, Philip of Alsace, in 1180. or St. Bavo Cathedral, this beautiful cathedral combines Romanesque, high Gothic and late Gothic architectural styles but is best known for housing the 15th century polyptych, "Adoration of the Lamb of God"
by Jan van Eyck.

5. GHENT - BRUGES 31ml(50km)
From Ghent we continue cycling towards the North Sea to the medieval historical centre of Bruges. The historic center of Bruges is on the list of Unesco World Heritage Sites and is teeming with places of interest. With the city center closed off to cars, all the stunning beauty and culture of this unforgettable city can be easily explored on foot or why not take a boat trip along the quiet canals. Visit the Belfry Tower, built in the 13th and 15th century it is widely considered Belgium's finest, with a carillon that has rung every quarter hour for nearly seven and a half centuries.

6. BRUGES - OSTEND - BRUGES 40ml(65km)
Cycle along the canals to the port of Ostend and perhaps continue to the coastal village of De Haan. Enjoy a refreshing dip in the North Sea or relax by the beach. To shorten the mileage you can take the train to Ostend.
