CyclistsDay 1. Arrive BLAIRGOWRIE: collect cycles, route briefing and instruction.

 

Day 2. STRATHARDLE - BLAIR ATHOLL 25ml(40km)
Morning transfer to Strathardle. Follow the Pitlochry road through the level part of this beautiful glen. Turn northward up Glen Fearnate, first on the estate road and then by track and path to Blair Atholl. If time permits visit Blair Castle to view the thirty-two rooms of furniture, paintings and armour.

 

Day 3. BLAIR ATHOLL - BRAEMAR 30ml(48km)
A steep climb up Glen Tilt and then follow the River Tilt between the hills to White Bridge and Linn of Dee. A short journey now on the level takes you to the popular tourist village of Braemar.

 

Balmoral CastleDay 4. BRAEMAR -  BALLATER 20ml(30km)           

A more restful day on tarmac roads travelling east through the pleasant scenery of Deeside. Visit Balmoral Castle before crossing the river to the quiet South Deeside Road and continuing your leisurely journey to Ballater.

 

Day 5. BALLATER - GLEN CLOVA 20ml(30km)
Take the road through Glen Muick to Loch Muick and then begin the climb over the Grampian Mountains. The track leads over Gallow Hillock and then there is a steep descent to Glen Clova.

 

Mountain RestDay 6. GLEN CLOVA - GLEN ISLA 31ml(50km) 

Return to the head of Glen Clova to reach the track through Glen Doll forest and the Kilbo Path to Kilbo in Glen Prosen. Down the Glen before striking west to Backwater Reservoir in Glen Isla. A short road journey takes you to Kirkton of Glenisla.

 

Day 7. GLENISLA - BLAIRGOWRIE 28ml(45km)

Follow the walking path south through Glenisla to turn right at the Hill of Alyth and follow the scenic road to Bridge of Cally. Time for lunch at the popular hotel before continuing over the hills to Marlee Loch and a short road section into Blairgowrie.
