Day 1. Arrive at SANTILLANA DEL MAR
Explore this picturesque medieval village with its cobbled streets and excellent restaurants. Collect cycles and route briefing.

Day 2. SANTILLANA - SAN VICENTE 23ml(36 km)
Your first day's ride travels through pleasant green countryside, past the lemon groves of Novales to Comillas. Explore this bustling little village with its architectural curiosities and then continue alongside the beautiful Atlantic beaches to the fishing village of San Vicente de la Barquera. Day 3. Circular tour from SAN VICENTE
Enjoy a walk around the old quarter and the fishing harbour with its many renowned seafood restaurants or cycle along unspoilt coastline to the charming cove of Berellín or the wonderful open beach of Merón.

Day 4. SAN VICENTE - LLANES 31ml(50km)
Cycle between the coast and the splendid backdrop of the magnificent "Picos de Europa" mountains which rise to over 8000 feet. Enjoy beautiful scenery with marvellous unspoilt beaches as you approach the charming Asturian fishing village of Llanes. This route may be shortened by 10ml by taking the local train to Unquera

Day 5. Rest day LLANES
Explore the countless beaches, including the unbelievable landlocked beach of Gulpiyiri and sample the local cider and fabada - a fine bean stew. Perhaps have a rest from the bike and enjoy a guided walk of the spectacular Cares Gorge or take a leisurely canoe trip down the nearby River Sella.

Day 6. LLANES - SOMO 28ml(44km)
A transfer to the hills above San Roque de Riomiera before beginning the 2700 feet downhill descent through the most spectacular limestone valley to the pleasant seaside resort of Somo and the bay of Santander.

Day 7. Circular tour from Somo
Explore the green countryside and fine beaches or take a boat trip across the Bay to the city of Santander. An opportunity for some shopping or just stroll around this fine city with its scenic promenade.

Day 8. Depart SOMO

Transfer to Bilbao or Santander airport
