1 Arrive NEEDHAM MARKET
Explore this pretty village. Evening: collect cycles and route
briefing.
Day
2 NEEDHAM MARKET - FRAMLINGHAM 26ml(42km)
Following the narrow country lanes cycle east through the pretty
village of Debenham to reach Framlingham. Visit the ancient ruined
Framlingham Castle in this lovely old market town.

3 FRAMLINGHAM - ALDEBURGH 28ml(45km)
Today visit Shawsgate Vineyard before reaching the coast at Dunwich.
Once the capital of East Anglia, it is now largely lost under
the sea. Cycle across Dunwich Heath, through the Bird Reserve
at Minsmere and on to your overnight stop at Aldeburgh.

4 Rest Day ALDEBURGH
Visit the Moot Hall, Martello Tower and lifeboat shed. Perhaps
have a swim from the good bathing beach and later taste the local
fare at the recommended restaurants

5 ALDEBURGH - WOODBRIDGE 37ml(59km)
Visit Snape Maltings and Orford Castle before reaching the tip
of Orford Ness at Shingle Street. Inland now to the overnight
stop at Woodbridge, a pretty village with a marina and Tide Mill.

6 WOODBRIDGE - HADLEIGH 24ml(38km)
Cycle along the Suffolk lanes to pass through the small villages
of Bealings, Tuddenham and Kersey. Stop for the night at Hadleigh
an attractive market town with interesting buildings and riverside
walks.

7 HADLEIGH - LAVENHAM 28ml(45km)
Heading into the heart of 'Constable Country' explore East Bergholt,
his birthplace and Flatford Mill where a guided tour visits seven
sites he painted, including the 'Haywain'. Cycle on to Stoke by
Nayland, its church tower a feature in many of his paintings.

8 LAVENHAM - NEEDHAM MARKET 16ml(26km)
A gentle short cycle ride back to Needham Market, return cycles
and depart.
