DAY
1. Arrive FORT WILLIAM:
The lively town of Fort William is set at the head of Loch Linnhe, with mighty Ben Nevis towering above it. If time permits you can explore ruined Inverlochy Castle, dating from 1280 or Neptune's Staircase, Thomas Telfords brilliantly engineered series of eight locks. Overnight stay, collect cycles, route briefing and instruction.

2. RATAGAN - ARNISDALE

Transport to Ratagan on Loch Duich to begin your adventure. Cycle
along the lochside
before tackling the steep climg over the hills to Glenelg. Pass
the ferry to Skye and enjoy the wonderful sea views on the coast
road to Arnisdale.

3. ARNISDALE - FORT AUGUSTUS

Today we are straight into off-road mountain biking with a gentle but long climb up Glen Arnisdale. Followed by more climbing across col of Cadha Mor before descending to Kinloch Hourn. Perhaps invest in a boat trip to shorten the journey by 9miles and start cycling from Kinloch Hourn. From here you will follow road or dirt tracks with a couple of big climbs on the way to Invergarry and then follow the Great

5. KINGUSSIE - TOMINTOUL

Pass
the ruined Ruthven Barracks and on to Drumguish then off road
to Balachroik and Feshiebridge.
Eastwards through the Rothiemurcus Estate, by Inshriach, Loch
an Eilein, Loch Morlich, Abernethy Forest, Braes of Abernethy,
and Bridge of Avon to Tomintoul. This 17th century village stands
astride the road between Deeside and Speyside in some of Scotland’s

Tough today! The minor road takes you to Dinnet, through Glen
Tanar and over the Grampian Mountains to Glen Esk: join the minor
road for a pleasant ride to picturesque village of Edzell.

to the sea: take the road to Brechin
