Day
1. Arrive RONDA
Transfer from Málaga Airport to Ronda. Explore the town
in its spectacular setting, divided by a ravine. Enjoy the typical
Andalusian architecture and visit the famous bullring. Collect
cycles and briefing.
Day 2. Circular tour from Ronda 29ml(46km)
Explore the Serranía de Ronda with its magnificent scenery
dotted with picturesque white villages. Visit the fascinating
village of Setenil de las Bodegas, where the inhabitants live
in house-caves built to the rock.
Day
3. RONDA - ZAHARA DE LA SIERRA 23/39ml(39/62km)
Head west through the beautiful mountains and the "Parque
Natural Sierra de Grazalemaisit" to the village of Grazalema
with its mix of Moorish and mountain architecture. From Grazalema,
descend to follow the shores of the reservoir of Zahara - El Gastor.
The overnight stop, Zahara de la Sierra, is another fine village
in a wonderful setting.
Day 4 ZAHARA DE LA SIERRA - ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA 36/44ml(58/70km)
Leaving
Zahara, head through the Parque Nacional de Grazalema, famous
for its beautiful scenery and unique wildlife. Begin the descent
towards Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most famous of the white
villages, perched high on a hill and dominated by its castle.
Day 5. ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA - MEDINA SIDONIA 32/50ml(51/80km)
Cycle southwardsfrom
Arcos towards the Parque Natural de los Alcornocales, one of the
largest cork forests in Europe and on reaching the park, turn
south towards the Atlantic coast. Tonight's stop is in the village
of Medina Sidonia, an old Arab fortress town perched high above
the Cádiz countryside.
Day 6. MEDINA SIDONIA - VEJER DE LA FRONTERA 21/40ml(34/64km)
From Medina Sidonia, head down towards the coast and cross the
flat lands of La Janda where fighting bulls may be grazing. At
the hilltop village of Vejer de la Frontera there is some leisure
time to explore this enchanting village. Its chaotic street plan,
and indeed of most of the villages en route, is evidence of the
Arab heritage of Spain.
Day
7. VEJER DE LA FRONTERA - ZAHARA DE LOS ATUNES/TARIFA 30ml/56ml(49km/90km)
Pass CapeTrafalgar lighthouse and continue through
Barbate,
famous
for its peculiar "almadraba" method

of fishing for tuna. At
the fishing village of Zahara de los Atunes there is the Palace
of the Dukes of Medina Sidonia and from here it is an optional
cycle to Tarifa, windsurfers paradise and southernmost point of
Western Europe. Transfer
to Mijas near Málaga for the last night.
Day
8. Depart MIJAS
Transfer to Malaga airport.
