INFORMATION ABOUT OUR HOLIDAYS

Self-Led Tours Group Tours Customised Tours Short Breaks

Self-Led Tours
Our tours are mainly self-led and designed for the cyclist who wishes to explore the beauty of Scotland's scenery, visit some of its many tourist attractions(both historical and modern) and enjoy the warm welcome of its people. Distances vary between 15-40 miles(24-64km) per day and where possible there is a choice of daily routes, some more challenging than others. You can proceed at your own pace comfortable in the knowledge that there is plenty of time to pause, have lunch by the burn, climb a hill or visit a historic castle. To assist you with your choice we have graded each tour. Distances are approximate and the grading is only a guide. We cannot accept responsibility for difficulties which may arise.
Level 1: Easy--flat terrain suitable for all ages and fitness
Level 2: Moderate--some days flat, some days with moderate hills. Short daily distances of 15-25ml(24-40km). Suitable for most ages and degrees of fitness.
Level 3: Strenuous--some days as in Level 2 but other longer days of 25ml-35ml(40-56km) with longer uphill rides. A moderate level of fitness is required.
Level 4: Sporting--challenging routes with steep hills. A good level of fitness is required.

Group Tours
SCOTLAND and IRELAND

Supported Tours are ideal for persons who wish to make new friends and travel with the maximum support. Please do not think that because you may wish to travel on your own or with a companion that you should not join a group tour. Each individual(or couple/party) is provided with maps and route notes and can travel and holiday independently. You can make use of the extra services such as luggage carrying that the tour provides but there is no obligation to join in if you prefer not to. A guide and a support vehicle accompanies each tour and if for any reason you do not wish to cycle all the time transport is available. The guide's function is to ensure that each person enjoys the tour and he will offer as much or as little support as you wish.

Customised Tours
We are happy to advise on any route you may be considering and give suggestions. It is wise to remember that away from central Scotland the roads and railways wind their way following the terrain and journey times can be longer than they would appear on a map. This is particularly true when ferry travel to the Outer Hebridean Islands is involved. One week is usually not enough time to enjoy the magic of these special islands. There are some roads we strongly advise are unsuitable for cyclists because of the heavy commercial and tourist traffic. Our brochure tours can be modified in any way to accommodate individual preferences. However, if you do not find a tour which visits the destination of your choice let us know and we will design an individual itinerary. All grades of accommodation are available from hostels to first class hotels. It is our pleasure to assist you to enjoy the special combination of Scotland's beautiful scenery and the warmth of its people.
