This journey begins in the charming village of Souillac a bustling town with it's beautiful Romanesque Abbey Church.Take a stroll along its narrow streets and soak in the Market atmosphere of the Cafe de Paris where poets and artists met during the war. From Souillac you cycle south east passing the Dordogne River to reach Rocamadour where you stay a couple of nights.Visit medieval towns such as Loubressac, Carrenac and Autoire. Continuing west our next stop for two nights is at La Roque Gageac, passing Chateau Fenelon and Montfort looming over the Dordogne. Over the centuries the Rivers Dordogne and Vezere have cut deep gorges into the limestone creating spectacular cliffs and caves. Around Les Eyzies there are outstandingly preserved cave paintings and carvings created by our ancestors fifteen thousand years ago.
